The authors of the monument are the artists from L’viv the sculptor O. Pylyev and the architect O. Chamara. The composition of the monument consists of the granite bottom, a general height is 3,5 meters, on which the bronze statue of a rider is set, it is 4,2 meters high - Danylo Halytsky is represented on the horse with the taken back right arm with a sword. The monument is looked over from all parts of the town. A place for it was chosen not by chance. Historians consider that the square of Halych and quarters are given around appeared exactly on the initiative of prince Danylo , for foreign, foremost German, merchants, organized in the society after the Magdeburg right. The monument was created to the historical event, because sculptors tried to show in this appearance the prince-winner, who in 1238, overcoming the boyars’ opposition, and rode into Halych on the horse back and united together Halych-Volyn lands again.
