After the opening of the museum in Krylos a new life of the Holy Hill began. New direction was purchased by archaeological researches of ancient Halych, which from 1965 year L’viv archaeologist Vitol'd Aulikh systematically conducted. In 80-90ths of the last century many foundations of disappearing churches were explored, taken under a guard billows of defensives of the ХІІ-ХІІІ-th centuries foundations of the Assumption cathedral of the XII century, the Chaple of St. Vasyliy and the Dormition church of the XVI-th century, are restored the Mitropolian chambers (at one time this was the summer residence of metropolian Andrey Sheptytsky), the Museum of history of ancient Halych is presently located in this building. In its display is widely presented history and cultural legacy of ancient city of Halych, archaeological and architectural finds of the past, which certify that Halych was a mighty state and religious center.
